SJ Berwin LLP, the leading pan-European corporate and commercial law firm, is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Sutherland, who will be joining the firm’s specialist Outsourcing team as a commercial associate on 14 May.
Andrew joins from Electronic Data Systems Legal Affairs, where since 1998 he has specialised in medium to very large scale UK and multi-jurisdictional IT and business process outsourcing transactions across the public and private sectors. His recent experience includes the complex realignment of EDS’ high profile contracts with the Department for Work and Pensions.
Andrew’s appointment swiftly follows that of partner and head of Outsourcing, David Meredith, who joined SJ Berwin LLP in the New Year. The two appointments have substantially reinforced the market-leading expertise of the firm’s Outsourcing team, which advises on programme management, procurement, due diligence, transaction modelling, corporate structuring, employment and pensions issues, tax, real estate and financing, and works from within client teams to deliver the very best solutions for every project, utilising unrivalled experience to get the job done, proportionally.
David Meredith said, "Through my work with EDS I’ve known Andrew for several years and am delighted that he is joining us. His extensive experience of major projects from within EDS as a business significantly reinforces the solutions-driven expertise we are able to offer our clients."
Andrew Sutherland said, "I’ve greatly enjoyed my time with EDS and it was always going to be hard to leave, but I felt it was time for a new challenge, and the Outsourcing team at SJ Berwin is extremely impressive. Not only is their expertise second to none, but having spent many years as a buyer of legal services I know how valuable their solutions-focused service delivery is to clients. I wanted a role where my in-house experience would continue to be utilised in everything I do, and this team can really enable me to do this."
