The COVID-19 pandemic had an immediate and significant impact on how we work, forcing many to close premises for extended periods, and to quickly adapt to remote working. Law firms around the world are now reliant on technology as the primary way to communicate with clients and colleagues, something that would have seemed unimaginable a year ago! Team catch ups, both formal and informal, have been replaced with video calls and virtual meetings. Client communication, as well as formal legal proceedings are also happening in a digital environment. 

With many major global companies stating that a “hybrid” way of working will become the post-COVID normal, what does this mean for the the strength of law firms connections with colleagues and clients? And, after a year or more of less "face-to-face" time, how are our people feeling and faring in this increasingly digital environment?
