AKD, Interlaw's representative firm in the Netherlands, has poached the former head of Baker McKenzie's Dutch real estate team, Frenk Huisman, and is now part of the largest real estate practice in the jurisdiction.

“An exciting move! I look forward to working with the multi-disciplinary real estate and projects team that AKD boasts. AKD is on the move and I am delighted to contribute to achieving its ambitions and further the firm's expansion and international position,” Frenk commented.

A former partner with Simmons & Simmons, Frenk has experience advising international investors, project developers and corporates in a range of sectors, including Financials, Energy and Infrastructure, Life Science and TMT.

“Frenk's experience and international profile dovetail neatly with our Benelux expansion ambitions. His wide sector experience and over 15 years of involvement in international transactions will prove a valuable asset for our clients” said AKD managing partner Erwin Rademakers in an enthusiastic response.

Frenk is highly ranked in Chambers and Partners and The Legal 500. He is particularly known for advising on complex development projects and frequently lectures on international realisation agreements.
