AKD, Interlaw's representative firm in the Netherlands, has hired a new intellectual property partner.

Roderick Chalmers Hoynck van Papendrecht joined AKD's partnership on 1 January 2020. He advises and represents national and international clients in matters involving copyrights, design rights, trademark law, trade name law, advertising law, and unfair competition, from which perspective he observes these and many other developments with great interest.

Roderick said: â€œIntellectual property law keeps evolving, constantly facing new and challenging issues. How do we regulate the protection of Artificial Intelligence creations? What impact will Brexit have on the protection of Union rights? The law must move with the times."

In addition to his AKD practice, Roderick is doing a doctorate in trade name law at the Erasmus University.
