Interlaw's partner firm in Norway, Haavind, has assisted Fontavis on its acquisition of OBOS Energi.

Fontavis is a specialized fund and investment management company based in Switzerland, which supplies sustainable returns on direct investments in clean energy and infrastructure assets. They are members of Swiss Life Asset Managers and manage more than 1 billion euros.

Through three funds, the Swiss company has invested in a total of 24 companies in hydropower, wind power, electricity grid, district heating, solar power, recycling and other infrastructure. In connection with this significant transaction, OBOS Energi changes its name to FORTE Vannkraft AS.

The power plants in operation and under construction for 2020 have a total expected annual production of 333 gigawatt hours (GWh), according to OBOS, and the company has a large number of power plants that are likely to be expanded in the coming years. Fontavis will continue to work on developing the portfolio with the existing organization.

Commenting on the deal, partners Bård Sandstad and Aksel Tannum, said:   “It has been a pleasure to assist Fontavis and work with the company’s highly skilled investment team in this exciting transaction. We look forward to the further development and Fontavis’s plans for expansion in the growing energy and infrastructure market.”
