INTERLAW LIVE: Virtual Managing Partner Forum: Geopolitical Flashpoints for 2021
A private session for the managing partners and leadership teams of Interlaw firms around the world, providing a forum for debate and training and development. This forum is on the topic of the Changing of the Guard: Geopolitical Flashpoints for 2021.
To discuss where next for global politics as the world enters a new era, we will be joined by eminent economist, Manu Bhaskaran, who will examine the geopolitical trends shaping the relationships between major Asian economies and their global competitors. With a changing regime in the White House, the outlook for international relations will be radically altered following the inauguration of Joe Biden in January 2021. After four years of a nationalist approach, we are likely to see a return to a more familiar style of diplomacy from the US – but how will this play out as the world emerges from the throws of the COVID-19 health crisis? How will the new presidency reframe the relationship between the US and China?
At the same time, as the future of the global economy becomes increasingly focused in Asia, the region seems to be seeing an increasing level of cross-border political flashpoints. How might these trends impact the global world order and what will a post-pandemic world look like from a political perspective?
