Interlaw Cares is the philanthropic, social impact and environmental responsibility initiative of Interlaw.
Interlaw Cares reflects our commitment to making a positive difference in the communities we serve and the world we share. From grassroots volunteering to donations and partner firm-led initiatives, Interlaw Cares brings our network together through meaningful, hands-on action.
Our goal is to foster sustainable change, through environmental stewardship, community outreach, and pro bono initiatives, while strengthening the human connections that underpin the legal profession.
COMMUNITY PROJECTS
Interlaw Cares integrates volunteer and community outreach activities into our regular in-person meetings around the world, providing direct support to local organizations, ensuring benefits are felt by the communities that we are active in.
COSTA RICA
Interlaw Cares volunteers helped renovate a children’s school in partnership with local non-profit CEN-CINAI (Centros Infantiles de Atención Integral), supporting local, underprivileged youth and creating better opportunities for future generations.
CZECH REPUBLIC
Interlaw Cares volunteers refurbished walls, furniture, and a garden at a speech therapy school and kindergarten for children with learning difficulties in Prague, Czech Republic.
TAIWAN
Interlaw Cares volunteers took part in a tree-planting initiative in Wulai, near Taipei, Taiwan, in collaboration with certified B Corporation DOMI Earth. The project aims to improve economic opportunities for the indigenous Atayal community and will offset 1,000kg of CO₂ emissions annually.
COLOMBIA
Interlaw Cares volunteers visited Hogar San Pedro Claver Home in Cartagena, Colombia to spend time with disadvantaged elderly residents through games, conversations, and shared experiences, providing meaningful community outreach with older generations.
SCOTLAND
40 Interlaw Cares volunteers cleared the paths and riverbanks of litter and dead foliage along the city's Water of Leith in collaboration with the Water of Leith Conservation Trust. A further 15 volunteers met and mentored community members from the Multi-Cultural Family Base which supports people from diverse backgrounds across Edinburgh.
AUSTRALIA
Interlaw Cares participants heard from Guide Dogs Australia's Ambassador Dogs and lived experience presenters who shared how their services empower people with low vision or blindness to live life their way.
CROATIA
In Croatia, Interlaw Cares participants helped redecorate the Josipovac Rehabilitation Centre, a social care and rehabilitation facility that provides long-term support, care, and structured programs for adults with intellectual disabilities.
CORPORATE CHARITY PARTNER
Interlaw has selected ShelterBox as the network’s corporate charity partner for 2025-26.
ShelterBox is an international disaster relief charity, founded in 2000 in the United Kingdom, that provides emergency shelter, tents, tools, water filters, and essential supplies to families displaced by conflict or natural disasters. They have supported over 3 million people in 100+ countries, helping communities rebuild after earthquakes, floods, typhoons, and human conflict.

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
Interlaw has partnered with Tradewater, a certified B Corporation tackling the environmental threat of hydrocarbons released into the atmosphere. To date, Interlaw has offset more than 300 tons of CO₂e emissions generated by travel to in-person meetings, the equivalent of one car traveling 1.2 million kilometers. Tradewater’s projects are certified by the American Carbon Registry.

FIRM-LED SUPPORT
Interlaw and our partner firms regularly support partner firm-linked organizations with charitable giving. Often these are organizations doing important work in their local areas to empower and support communities. These include organizations such as Girls on the Run in the United States, which designs empowerment programs for 3rd-8th grade girls, to Grund School in Romania, which runs interactive and engaging extracurricular educational programs for children.
CONTINUING THE MISSION
Interlaw Cares will continue to grow as we deepen our engagement with communities and causes that matter. Through annual donations, coordinated volunteerism, and firm-level leadership, our network is united by a shared belief: That legal professionals can, and should, be a force for good.
