Shanna Hunka, partner and civil litigator at Bishop & MacKenzie, Interlaw’s partner firm in Canada, has been appointed as the new head of Interlaw’s North American litigation team.

Based in Calgary, Shanna advises across a range of administrative, commercial lease enforcement, employment law and general civil litigation. She has appeared at all levels of court in Alberta and regularly acts for clients involved in the self-regulation of professions and is experienced in professional disciplinary hearings for accountants, lawyers, engineers, realtors, dentists and medical professionals.

Glenn Cunningham, Chair of Interlaw, comments: “Shanna is a highly experienced litigator and will be a great addition to the global leadership of Interlaw’s litigation practice.

“Across the world the litigation landscape has changed, not only in the way disputes are heard and settled but also in the nature and cause of the conflict. It is certain that many of these changes are here to stay with technology playing an increasingly central role.

“This is a pivotal moment for our litigation practice, as businesses operating across multiple jurisdictions seek out legal service providers with the breadth and depth of expertise to help them plot a sound and commercially focused global litigation strategy.”
