Interlaw is pleased to announce the appointment of Antonella Terranova as global head of the elite law firm network’s Competition and Distribution Law team. 

Ms Terranova, a partner at the Rome office of De Berti Jacchia Franchini Forlani, Interlaw’s representative firm in Italy takes the helm from Michel Ponsard.

Practicing in the area of antitrust law, Ms Terranova frequently handles merger filings, defense in cartels and abuse of dominance cases, self-assessment of restrictive agreements and practices. She also has significant experience in private enforcement actions both follow-on and stand-alone, as well as unfair commercial practices falling within the competence of the Competition Authority.

Meanwhile, Stephen Solomon a partner at De Grandpré Chait, Interlaw’s strategic partner in Montréal, Canada has been appointed North American chair of the network's global Tax team.

Mr Solomon specializes in many areas of Canadian and international tax, including tax litigation, tax compliance and tax/estate planning. He has represented taxpayers in their disputes with the Quebec and Canadian tax authorities. He is involved in files from the audit process to the appeal phase before the provincial and federal courts. Mr Solomon has also developed extensive expertise in matters of tax compliance. 

More specifically, he has acquired vast experience in utilizing the federal and provincial voluntary disclosure programs in varying contexts including, but not limited to, undeclared foreign assets. Lastly, Mr Solomon specializes in Canadian and international tax/estate planning in which he works closely with both Canadian residents and non-residents.
