Interlaw Appoints New Banking, Finance and Insolvency Leadership Team

Interlaw has appointed Katharine Lewis a partner at Trowers & Hamlins as global head of the elite network’s Banking, Finance and Insolvency practice. 

An experienced banking and finance lawyer, Ms Lewis’ focus is on inward investment into UK real estate and she regularly advises both lenders and borrowers on senior and mezzanine syndicated facilities, bilateral loan facilities, security and other ancillary finance documents for use in the acquisition and development of all classes of real estate assets. 

Mary Coffey, a partner at Interlaw’s Irish partner AMOSS Solicitors, has been appointed to EMEA Chair of the practice group. She replaces fellow AMOSS partner John O’Sullivan who was appointed to the Interlaw board last month (October 2018). Ms Coffey has a particular expertise in advising banks on taking, restructuring and enforcing security. Prior to joining AMOSS she spent three years in the Legal, Banking and Security team at Allied Irish Bank plc. 

Additionally, Alan Frydenlund QC, a shareholder within Interlaw’s Vancouver, Canada member firm Owen Bird Law Corporation joins the practice group as North America Chair. Mr Frydenlund, a qualified barrister and solicitor , acts for clients on various aspects of lending transactions with a particular emphasis on representing lenders and borrowers on syndicated secured debt financings for all matter of lending transactions and their concomitant realization and insolvency proceedings.
