Interlaw Firm in Stuttgart, Germany Strengthens Competition Practice with Two Key Hires

BRP RENAUD, Interlaw’s partner firm in Stuttgart, Germany, has bolstered its antitrust and competition practice with the significant appointments of Simon Schmauder as partner and Simon Gollasch as associate. Gollasch joined the firm on 1 September 2025, and will be followed by Dr. Schmauder on 1 October 2025.
They will lead BRP RENAUD's antitrust law practice group, reinforcing the firm’s capabilities in merger control, cartel damages, distribution and cooperation issues, non-compete matters, and broader competition law matters.
Dr. Schmauder brings deep expertise in German and European antitrust law, advising on complex mergers, navigating merger control and investment review processes, and representing parties in high-stakes cartel damages proceedings. He is also well-versed in distribution, licensing, cooperation agreements, compliance, and U.S. antitrust and litigation law.
Gollasch complements this with strengths in litigating damages and injunction claims, handling fine and merger control procedures before competition authorities, and guiding internal investigations and compliance strategies, with a particular emphasis on risk analysis and prevention.
Partner Roman Wexler-Uhlich said, “With Simon and Simon joining us, BRP RENAUD’s competition practice is stronger and better equipped than ever. Their combined expertise enables us to offer seamless, high-quality competition law support to domestic and international clients from across the entire Interlaw network.”
