Interlaw Partner Firm Drives India’s Sustainability Ambitions
L&L Partners, Interlaw’s partner firm in India, has advised on multiple matters that support India’s renewable energy and sustainability ambitions.
Lawyers at the firm recently advised on the refinancing of the existing lenders of Vena Energy JMD Power Private Limited for its 26MW wind power project in the state of Madhya Pradesh. The team also supported Power Finance Corporation Limited in connection with the proposed financial assistance aggregating up to INR 3456.20 million to Karnataka Resco Rooftop Solar Private Limited. This involved advising on the part financing of the estimated cost of setting up and implementing a 10x10 MW (cumulative 100 MW /135 MWp) solar PV power project.
The firm has also acted for the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA) on several matters. The team advised on financial assistance aggregating up to INR 2676.70 million for part financing the acquisition of 3000 all-electric cars and the financial assistance for a principal amount of Rs.1052,18,00,000 provided to ACME Chittorgarh Solar Energy Private Limited, for the purpose of refinancing the existing facilities of the Company in relation to a 250 MW capacity solar PV power plant located at Jodhpur.
Finally, L&L’s credentials in the renewable sector have been recognized with a major award, with the firm winning ‘Best Legal Consulting Firm of The Year’ at the India National Solar Awards 2022.
