Steven is the fourth president in the organization’s 20-year history and will serve a term of four years.

Established in 2006, SCS is a professional organization focused on copyright matters in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, China. Chen Yidan, co-founder of Tencent Group, was among its founders and served as its inaugural president.

The society currently has 202 member organizations and performs a number of copyright-related functions, including the preliminary acceptance and initial review of copyright registration applications on behalf of the Guangdong Provincial Copyright Administration. It also participates in Guangdong’s online mediation platform for copyright disputes.

Steven said, “Through our work with the Shenzhen Copyright Society, we hope to contribute to the continued development of the IP environment in the Greater Bay Area while strengthening the support we can provide to Interlaw firms and their clients doing business in the region. For our Interlaw colleagues, this means having a trusted partner on the ground with direct insight into the issues shaping IP protection and enforcement in one of China’s most dynamic business regions.
