Media title, Latin Lawyer has recognized Interlaw’s partner firm in Ecuador, Pérez Bustamante & Ponce (PBP) as Pro Bono Firm of the Year for the legal services it provides under its social responsibility initiative to vulnerable people and families.

For more than 33 years, PBP, through the Fundación Fabián Ponce Ordoñez (FPO), has helped vulnerable women and children by providing them with free legal services and legal defense in situations of injustice or abuse.

FPO has handled more than 30,000 cases and has helped 150,000 people in Ecuador, which represents an average of 8,000 hours of pro bono work per year. It has also created a structure separate from the firm, which allows it to dedicate a professional team to this work.

Since PBP’s creation, it has always recognized its commitment to society and from day one, made it part of its organizational culture to recognize the value of pro bono work and the need to ensure that justice is accessible to those who need it most.
