Interlaw’s Firm in Panama Advises on Biggest Panamanian Asset Sale Deal Since 2018
Interlaw’s partner firm in Panama, Arias Fábrega and Fábrega (ARIFA) has represented leading agricultural input distributor, Fertica Panamá in the sale of its Panamanian operations to DISAGRO/ABOPAC, a regional conglomerate based in Guatemala.
The asset sale deal is the largest in the country since 2018. ARIFA advised and co-ordinated on a year long closing, which overcame COVID related challenges and required the transfer of each asset class on an individual basis pursuant to the respective local transfer formalities, including among others, government agricultural registries, intellectual property and lease agreements. The firm also coordinated all associated third party and government approvals and consents.
