Arias, Fábrega & Fábrega (ARIFA), Interlaw’s partner firm in Panama, has announced the promotion of Fernando Arias F. to partner in its business and corporate law team.

Fernando joined the firm in 2014 and advises on a broad range of corporate matters, including complex domestic and cross-border financing transactions, mergers and acquisitions, infrastructure projects and other corporate transactions. 

Deals he has worked on include the Government of Panama’s acquisition of Transporte Masivo de Panamá, S.A. (MiBus), the US$3.025 billion acquisition of Prestige Cruises International by Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings and the US$926.5 million acquisition of 30% interest in Cervecería Nacional Dominicana (CND), the leading beer company in the Caribbean, by Ambev.

He is also an active member of ARIFA’s specialized multi-disciplinary group that works with global clients seeking to establish operations in Panama, as well as sitting on the ARIFA Pro Bono and CSR Committee. He is a member of the Young Lawyer’s Council and the International Bar Association, and his professional recognitions include The Legal 500 Latin America for his work in banking and finance, corporate law and M&A.
