Interlaw's Indian Partner Firm Recognised by Bloomberg for Renewables Expertise
Interlaw’s partner firm in India, L&L Partners, has been recognised as “leagues ahead in India renewables” by leading media title, Bloomberg.
The firm, led by founder and managing partner Rajiv K. Luthra, worked on 2.1 gigawatts of clean energy deals this year, including advising SB Energy in obtaining debt for its 600MW solar project in Rajasthan, has “dominated” clean energy legal advisory services in India in 2020, according to BloombergNEF (BNEF), a leading provider of primary research on clean energy, advanced transport, digital industry, innovative materials and commodities.
BNEF found some 27 projects were financed in India this year totalling 985 megawatts. It added, “as power producers seek to leverage lower interest rates to refinance their debts, banks and other financial institutions rely” on firms such as L&L Partners to ensure all legal procedures are being followed and there are no loose ends in the contract”.
