Lawyer at Interlaw’s Partner Firm in British Columbia, Canada, Receives STEP Academic Award
Brett J. Maerz, an associate lawyer at Owen Bird Law Corporation, Interlaw’s firm in British Columbia, Canada, has received the Academic Achievement Award from the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).
STEP is the leading international organization for trust and estate professionals who specialize in family inheritance and succession planning. It also administers the Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) designation, an internationally recognized hallmark of professional expertise in the area of trusts and estates.
Brett, who specializes in in wills, estates, trusts and corporate law, is currently completing the qualifications to become TEP designated and has been awarded the academic excellence award for receiving the highest mark in 2023 across Canada in the Law of Trusts course.
In her estate planning practice, Brett has experience drafting estate and incapacity plans to suit her clients’ needs, as well as family business succession plans to help prepare families for the next generation.
