Partner at Interlaw’s Toronto Firm Appointed to Board of Directors

Aaron Bains, partner at Aird & Berlis in Toronto, Canada, has been appointed to Interlaw’s board of directors.

As part of his role on the board, Aaron will also become Global Chair of Interlaw’s NextGeneration lawyers’ group having previously served as North America Chair. The group is instrumental in supporting the rising stars across the network, as well as providing opportunities for development through scholarships, secondments, conferences and meetings with professionals across the world.    

At Aird & Berlis, Aaron practices corporate law with an emphasis on debt and equity financing, and domestic and international M&A, advising a broad range of clients, including investors, banks, investment funds, strategic/financial buyers, family offices and retiring or otherwise divesting sellers.   

Recognised as a leading practitioner in his field, he has received multiple accolades in recent years and was most recently cited in Best Lawyers 2024: Ones to Watch in Canada for his expertise in Mergers & Acquisitions Law and Securities Law.   

Highly engaged in the wider legal community, Aaron is a former president and board member of both the Canadian International Council – Toronto Branch and the South Asian Bar Association of Toronto, the largest legal diversity organisation in Canada. 

Beyond the legal community, Aaron sits on the board of the Leukaemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada and the St. George’s Society of Toronto.   

On joining the Interlaw board, Aaron said:
