Veritas Legal, a leading commercial law firm based in Mumbai, India, has joined Interlaw, the global network of independent law firms. The move expands Interlaw’s footprint in South Asia and reinforces Veritas Legal’s ability to support clients with cross-border legal needs.

Michael Pattinson, Interlaw Chair, said, “Veritas Legal’s focus on precision, commercial insight, and depth of practice in both transactional and litigation matters make them a superb addition to Interlaw. We welcome them warmly and look forward to working together as clients require increasingly integrated legal services across multiple jurisdictions.

Founded in 2015 by Abhijit Joshi, Veritas Legal has grown rapidly into one of India’s most respected firms in its niche. The firm now has 70 lawyers, and handles a wide spectrum of transactional, advisory, and dispute resolution work along with expanding their expertise in real estate, private client practice, dispute resolution and white-collar crime, banking and finance, projects and infrastructure, competition, and labor and employment. The firm has been widely recognized for its work by Chambers and Partners, The Legal 500, IFLR1000, Asian Law Business, Asialaw Rankings, Benchmark Litigation, Lexology Index (formerly Who’s Who Legal), and Forbes India. In 2020 the firm was named “Rising Star of the Year” by the IFLR1000.

As India’s commercial capital, Mumbai and its metropolitan area generate more than 6% of India’s GDP, with the city home to some of the country’s leading financial institutions and corporations. It is also a leading center for entertainment, culture, and fashion in South Asia, most notably as the home of Bollywood, one of India’s - and the world’s - leading centers for film production.

Founding and managing partner Abhijit Joshi said, “We are thrilled to join Interlaw representing Mumbai. As the city continues to grow in importance as a center for cross-border trade and commerce, being part of this elite global network enhances our ability to anticipate regulatory risks, mobilize international expertise, and deliver seamless service wherever our clients’ needs extend. This membership is a milestone in our journey.
