Why our network-first AI collaborations are a landmark moment for global legal services

This year has marked another proud moment at my time as Global Chair of Interlaw.

We have become the first global network to partner with leading AI platforms Harvey and Legora, marking a pivotal moment in the adoption of advanced technology tools across the global legal profession.

This has been a hugely ambitious undertaking for our network, bringing together lawyers from firms across the world for a structured program designed to accelerate understanding, adoption, and the practical application of AI-enabled legal services.

The successful Legora and Harvey trials have seen participating firms engage in a series of coordinated training sessions designed to provide collaborative learning opportunities tailored to different legal disciplines and workflows.

The pilots have enabled our lawyers to build practical knowledge and confidence in applying AI to real-world legal work and support high-quality client service in both transactional and dispute-related matters.

These trials are important because we know that AI is set to have a huge impact on how the legal sector operates. The profession is experiencing a period of profound technological change, so our priority is to ensure that Interlaw firms, wherever they are in the world, have access to the tools, knowledge, and support needed to serve clients at the highest level.

Both trials form part of our broader five-year strategy to expand access to cutting-edge technology and foster innovation across our network of more than 150 offices worldwide. By enabling firms of all sizes and markets to engage directly with leading AI tools, we can strengthen cross-border collaboration and ensure our partner firms remain at the forefront of a rapidly evolving legal landscape.

In addition, by undertaking these structured pilot programs on a global scale, we are not only accelerating learning across the world but also building a shared understanding of how innovation can enhance the way we work across multiple jurisdictions.

These groundbreaking, industry-first collaborations with Harvey and Legora allow us to explore how AI can be deployed responsibly and effectively in legal practice.

As the legal sector continues to navigate the evolving impact of artificial intelligence, our commitment to proactive, collaborative innovation, will ensure our partner firms across the world are well positioned to deliver forward-looking, technology-enabled legal services to clients worldwide. The AI revolution is here.

And, we’re ready for it.
